Course Description

A growing number of food bloggers are using their on-line platform to build an audience for the traditional books they wish to write. This two week intensive course focuses on conceptualizing that book, creating the proposal, creating a marketing plan and preparing the package for presentation to literary agents and publishers. This seminar is appropriate to writers with books already underway (in this case, the instructors work to refine a blog that supports the publishing effort) or those who have well-established blogs.
Interviews include cookbook publishing veterans Rux Martin (Executive Director Rux Martin Books at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), Lorena Jones (Editorial Director, Ten Speed Press), Suzanne Rafer (executive Editor and Director of Cookbooks, Workman Publishing) and Nick Fauchald (founder of Short Stack Books) as well as well-knownliterary agents.
