COOK, SCRIBBLE, BREATHE, RETREAT
Writers retreat to the mountains of upstate New York for a week of conscious eating and renewing their writing practice. Daily morning pages, yoga, mediation, an afternoon peer workshop and a one-on-one coaching session are all optional; some prefer the silence of winter and long, unbroken days to simply write, rejuvenate and dream.
Dorm housing, group dinners, hundreds of miles of hiking and cross country ski trails and desks, or comfy chairs with a view.

CAMP, BOOK, WRITE
This week of bucolic life in the mountains is reserved for authors or those writing book proposals. Morning writing exercises, afternoon peer workshops, one-on-one coaching, yoga and meditation instruction are all included but are optional. Dinner, however, is a must. Simple meals from local farms turned out by an inventive chef and writer in residence.
A changing cast of well-known authors tends to join the group, making dinner a literary salon in this nineteenth century farmhouse. Perched on 300 acres of rolling woods and farm fields, the property also features a clay tennis court, a small lake, miles of hiking trails and a profound sense of existing outside time. The setting and supportive environment allow writers to get lost in their work — to surface only when the urge for rich conversation – or the aroma from the kitchen — proves irresistible.
